LUISA appears with the mission to enrich and make more flexible the processes of specifying, discovering and composing learning needs in the context of Learning Management Systems and Learning Object Repositories. In this sense, Semantic Web technology is able to provide the required computational semantics for the automation of tasks related to learning objects such as selection or composition.
The LUISA objectives are the following:
- Developing a Semantic Web Service-based Architecture for Learning Object Discovery, Selection, Negotiation and Composition.
- Developing Semantic Learning Object Annotation Techniques.
- Annotation Tool development adding semantics to learning objects metadata
- Integration of the architecture into existing LCMS.
- Implementation of two case studies based on the LUISA technology (academic and industrial)
